omg, IMMA COVERGRLLLL! lol. Not.

and POSE!

Cinderella pose.
There you have it
. I didn’t really take any pictures when I was actually AT the prom lol- maybe like 3 pictures total. But it was definitely fun. Ehmulee and I agreed that the Christmas Dance was better in the music department. Because the dancing music was definitely not as good at Prom. But the food was MILES better than the Christmas Dance food, and the location was a lot better too. We were kinda sad that Stacey wasn’t sitting with us at our table this time, but we still had fun.
And Note to Self: Even if prom is formal, wear a knee-length dress. I loved my gown and all, but it is so much harder to dance in (not to mention it’s hot). In my Christmas Dance dress I could move around in a lot better and it wasn’t so heavy.
But I still got to have lots ‘o fun. I danced with all my friends and danced with my gal pals during slow songs (omg TWIRL ME! lol)… A guy actually did ask me to dance with him during the last dance, which me = shock and not quite sure what to do. lol. But we eventually joined in a group slow dance XD with five people and we were all belting out the song that was playing, so it was fun. I know at the Christmas Dance I felt pretty crappy that no one asked me to dance during the last dance, and i HATE that. Why should that make me feel crappy? So I am happy that I got asked to dance and all, but at the same time I hate how it matters to me. (and then after they ask you to dance and you are dancing, wtf are you supposed to be doing? Like, do you talk? Silent? I had no idea. Then you have the stupid girl thoughts in your head “Does he like me? or I am the only girl around to ask? Or maybe he just wanted to dance with someone and I was there? Or maybe he does like me? Do I talk to him at school?” and blahblahblah. Ugh, I wish that voice would just die right now lol. And then I felt bad when we did the group thing, because maybe he did want to dance with me and I was being mean by being a group. SHUT UP VOICE! Blarg, I dunno lol.
So anyway. We then went to Barnes and Noble (Ehmulee and I) in all our beautiful glory (lol). One of the ladies working there said we looked beautiful. The rest of the people looked at us like we were freaks. lol. We then got a Strawberry Frappicino (can’t spell it ><) and it was yum and then went to Wendy’s and got some late night fries (also yum). We then went over to our friend Stacey’s house to sleep over. (Which, all we really did was get there, get changed and hang for a bit, start Juno at 12:30 and then fall asleep half and hour later lol. Aren’t we the party princesses?)
OMG, after I was all changed out my dress, I went to scrub away all the makeup I had on. Ugh, I like getting all “prettied” up or whatever for special occasions and all, but I hate having so much makeup on my face. Ugh. It’s like a layer that covers me up. So I was happy to have it off (even if I looked like a death zombie).
lol, then I had to pull out ALL of the FIFTY SEVEN bobby pins in my hair. FIFTY SEVEN!! God, it took me like half and hour just to get them all out. That’s how many bobby pins it takes to get my thick hair back like that. lol. My hair dresser did a really kickass job though, and my hair did look awesome. If you touched the back of it it was like a rock lol. And dear hair style people: Please, give us girls with short AND curly hair some styles to use. I see styles for short hair all the time, but it’s all for short and STRAIGHT hair. I hardly ever see any styles for short and curly, and it frustrates me to no end. Luckily I found an updo curly style which was probably for longer hair but you coudn’t really tell and used that as my reference.
So, all in all it was a lot of fun
(and I have thank my grandma for making me such a gorgeous dress)
Ahh! Two weeks until graduation.. and I have finals next week! AH!
So if I am not around much, that’s why. I need to get studying ^^;
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Gorgeous dress, gorgeous hair, gorgeous face, gorgeous girl!!!

Your grandma made that dress? It’s gorgeous. I want her to make a dress for me, too!
You look so beautiful and happy in those photos. LOVE the dress color on you, too. I’m glad you had a good prom. Cheesy or not, you’ll always remember it.

You looked absolutely beautiful. My mum made my dress for Grand March after the ceremonies for my grad, but my dress looked nothing as stunning as yours. The Satin-Yellow is a georgeous color for you.
And I dunno I just feel like I should keep writing, so when it comes to slow dancin’ with a guy you can do any of those things listed. I’m sure you knew that but thought I’d throw this up there. Talk about anything, have fun with it, talk about school or classes or friends or teacher love/hates, etc.
And then there’s the whole thing of you and your Emily going to Barnes and Noble, before the big social event I met up with a friend who was doing my make-up. We set up a rendez-vous at my workplace, so we came in through the back door, but my date, she came in through the friend all gorgeous and stuff, so afterwards there was two chicks dressed up in pouffy gowns running out of the store laughing hysterically. It was awesome! Best night of my life, to date.
But as the french say, Felicitation! (translation: Congrats!) On graduating. And good luck on those finals.
P.S.
Might I add I work in a retail outlet that sells Work Clothes.. example: coveralls and steel-toed boots. ^_^

You looked terrific for prom. I’m glad you had a nice time and that you got asked to dance! Your “self-talk” about the boy reminded me of myself when I was in school…… But don’t fret, it’s ALL good! Just keep enjoying yourself!
Good look with your exams!

…I can’t see your pictures, but it’s my computer here at WORK, not you…..*heehee!* First off, I really enjoy your writing.
About DANCING: Okay. I love big band music, so when the SWING-DANCE craze hit in the late 90’s, I was on it.!! !! I learned quickly and well, and was the toast of the ’scene’ for a little bit there in Denver…ah, the memories…*ahem!* anyway, I learned one of the hardest dances there is (the freekin’ LINDY-HOP!!) when I weighed 200 lbs (at 5′5″)…it was the first time I didn’t think at all about my size.
Some things to talk about while you are dancing with a stranger:
“I really like this song!”
“What a fun party, huh? Are you friends with (host name)?”
“Are you having a good night so far?”
“I just learned to dance, so please be merciful” *haha!* you get the idea… and remember at the end of a song to say “Thanks!” to your partner.
* : )
I am so glad you had fun at your prom!

that dress is so gorgeous (and so are you of course!)!! it reminds me (especially in the curtsey picture) of belle from beauty and the beast. the corset part looks so intricate, so kudos to your g-ma! glad you had a good time too

You look stunning! I think you should seriously hire your grandma out for work…or she should try out for “Project Runway”.
That would be awesome watching your grandma give someone a smackdown.
Anyhoo, I read your blog and I almost want to be your age again. Almost. LOL!
You are just having a blast!

Your dress is totally fab. Makes me think of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
And I think 99% of people are awkward when slow dancing. At least I know I am. Thankfully after high school it isn’t called for much anymore.

What with all the warring going on below this post, I thought I’d take this time to say how good your pictures got! Your dress looks awesome. Your hair looks even awesome-er.
Alright, I’m off to go do some bashing… I mean… I’m going to politely and intelligently criticize the heck out of someone…

Just another late commenter chiming in to say: You’re beautiful and these pics are gorgeous! I love the “train” of the dress and the shirred waistline, and I agree that your grandma is a wizard of a seamstress.

Liz, you are really a very beautiful girl. Size doesn’t matter… You have a very beautiful face and lovely eyes, and I’m sure your personality is just to die for! I love how you are comfortable with your weight! Too bad all girls aren’t like that… You seem like an amazing person, and I think you could really teach some girls some things =) Cute dress btw

Amazing! The colour suits you and the back of the dress is fab. My senior prom is about three months away and I have NO idea what to wear. I really want something in the shade of purple. I’m around 220lbs and 5′8″ tall. Any suggestions?
