Curls Rock has cyclomethicone, though, which could be a problem to get out if you don't shampoo. (I don't either... my hair is just wavy, not curly, but it's dry and seems to do better when I don't use shampoo.) I don't know why because the rest of their products aren't that silicone-y, but the "curl amplifier" (which I think is what susan is referring to) is. If there's one thing I have learned about curly hair, though, it's that everyone's hair responds differently to different products, so take this with a grain of salt.

Since I "discovered" I have curly hair and started using products in it, unfortunately I've discovered I like mostly stuff that is sort of hard to get at the grocery store. Currently I like Curl Keeper--which I can only get online--for frizz, followed by some kind of lightweight gel or cream like Matrix Amplify (which I only buy the generic of at Sally's because I think the actual manufacturer tests on animals; 'course maybe the Generic Brand people do too), Abba Gel-Lotion (which I think is discontinued), or ISO Bouncy Creme. I have used and really like the Herbal Essences Body Envy gel since you mentioned you like HE, but for myself I don't usually buy it because of the animal testing thing.

>>How to be happy without spending money<<

Ha! Welcome to my world, and I graduated from high school ten years ago. Funny how some things don't change. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm saving up for a downpayment on a house...

Anyway, I'm sure you'll have no problem keeping busy this summer when you find a job. If not, there's always the holy summer triumvirate of window-shopping, frisbee, and picnics!

Can I also say again, your prom photos are gorgeous. Just gorgeous. And that little bolero is so sweetly and neatly designed I cried with envy when I saw it. Your grandma rocks.

I just want to know how you get your hair to do that! I have naturally curly hair, but I flat iron it because I can’t control my curls. They get all frizzy and weird. Your curls are nice and full and bouncy looking. Any tips?

omg lol, my hair is crazy. I used to do the same thing- I would flat iron my hair (well, my bangs/front of head, there was way too much hair on my head to straighten all of it- it would take me 2 hours just to do that. ugh.) because I didn't know what to do with it. I hate when magazines talk about hair styling, because they hardly ever have stuff for thick, curly, frizzy hair. It is annoying. I see zillions of ways to style straight hair and wavy hair and kinda curly hair, but never full on curls. (and especially if your curly hair is short. You can have short and straight hairstyles, but there aren't many for short and curly. FRUSTRATING)

Anywhooo lol. I hardly EVER shampoo my hair- I use conditioner every time I take a bath/shower. As for the products I use- I have two different ones. Sometimes I used something called "Making Waves" by Graham Webb. That one gives the more "crispy curl" as I call it lol. It's not as soft and is more chunky. My hairdresser uses it too, and it's the kind of hair product that you can't just get all Walmart or wherever (I have no idea where my mom buys it, to be honest). The other kind that I used (and I think used in my senior picture there) is Herbal Essences totally twised curl boosting mousse. (Sometimes I put some Garnier Fructis Curl & Shine Leave-in conditioning cream too, but not always). And always use a diffuser when drying curly hair lol. Most of the time I just let it air dry and then once it's nearly dry I shake my head like crazy to poof it out and such.

I don't really have a great definite answer for how to get curly hair to be awesome all the time, because I swear I do the same thing to it and somedays it will be perfect and others it will be just blarg. A lot of times I'll do my hair in the morning, take a bath without washing my hair, and then wake up and it looks all messy chic lol (plus, saves me time getting ready in the morning!)

Hope any of this advice helps!

Liz! I really enjoyed your interview with FatGrrl. Oh, and if you liked The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things, you should read Big Fat Manifesto by Susan Vaught.

^^ Thank you so much!! Oh, Thanks for the book suggestion- I'm probably going to make a book asking for book recommendations, I need to get stuff to read for summer (now that i don't have to worry about reading my AP English books I can read whatever I please.. finally). I'll to do some Amazon shopping now :)

You are gorgeous and your eyes are the smex.
I want a haircut like yours, but then I’d be a complete copycat.

:) Thank you!!! Feel free to copy. In all honesty, I must have copied off Rihanna because I told my hairdresser (using her cover of Seventeen back in December I think) "I want a curly haired version of this" lol. So, in reality, we are all copy cats. (and I'm not one of those people who freak out when someone has the same purse/shirt/dress as me. Who cares.)

WOOT! For finals being over!! Congratulations!

And . . . lovely pics, btw.

^^ Thank you!!! lol.

I think right now I am going to do the Thank-God-Finals-Are-Over-Dance!
