I voted!

I’m just updating this on both of my blogs, because I feel so awesome about it!

The line was INSANE! I went to the polling place at 10:50, it was 12:17 by the time I had voted. But it was so inspirational to see so many people there voting! Organizers were handing out Pizza, doughnuts, soda, water, and magazines! I brought some stuff to study, it really wasn’t that bad. Sadly, I missed lunch, since i have class from 12:30-1:45, but I got it afterwords. I remembering hearing someone telling a person not to leave, that they would call your professors just so you could vote. It was awesome.

And I got a sweet “I voted Today for Obama” sticker. Wearing it proudly!

Let the election excitement/nervousness begin! I’ll probably be watching TV rather late tonight..

And I made a post about how annoying my family is on my other blog, if anyone wants to read.

And I finally managed to get some ovaries and comment over at Shakesville- jeez I am feeling so empowered today! YAY!

Maybe I was just really excited to vote because this is my first voting experience, but either way, I felt like I made a difference.

woot!

  1. Welcome to the world of voting! You will love it!!!

  2. Woot!! We voted! I am so glad yiou got to vote and not miss your class. I cannot believe how many people went to vote. I am also so happy with the professors today. Ours let us skip class to vote if we wanted to.

    Yay…skype party tonight!

    love, Nikki

  3. Bleh, McBama! I voted my conscience and wrote in Dr. Ron Paul, the only defender of the Constitution left in the Republican Party. Of course, it won’t matter since Obama will win.

  4. Congratulations! You did make a difference!

  5. P.S. Make sure and go back to the comment thread if you haven’t already–folks had some great supportive responses to your comment. You rock! :)

  6. W00T! Hooray for President-elect Obama! What a cool thing to have your first
voting experience be for a winner, and for such a historic occasion!

  7. Yay for first-time voting! How’s it feel to be a part of history? This election was amazing.
I am super-excited to be a part of it, but I think I am a tiny bit jealous of you for getting
to experience something so great your first time out. :)
