I’m sorry not updating here enough…. I’ve been to busy being stressed and depressed over on my college blog to have any energy to post here. There are a few things though that I have for post ideas, so hopefully they will come to be sometime in the future.

Anyway, I had actually meant to blog about this earlier, I just never got around to it. Ehmuhlee sent me and email that had this awesome painting in it (the fourth of the images below). I saw it and immediately loved it. I loved the message and I personally loved the style. I’m a fan of this style of painting. The color of it struck me as beautiful as well. The juxtaposition of the article behind the painting was also really neat. I remember emailing Ehmuhlee asking her for the link to where she found the image. She gave it to me, but I never got a chance to go to the link or post about it.

Just recently my other bestie Nikki told me to go this link to see this woman’s art. I did, and I immediately thought the style was the same as the image Ehmuhlee sent me. I couldn’t believe I forgot about this! So right away I was looking at all of these lovely ladies and smiling. They were perfect. I also was reading some of the woman’s blog, I was sad to see there was some body negativity (the one post mentioned finding a bathing suit for her imperfect body and it was definitely not said in a positive way, though I could be just making the wrong assumption) but honestly, other than fatosphere blogs, where is there not? Heck, even on fatosphere blogs there is negativity (even on my own blog) so that’s not that big of a deal. It’s so hard to shake off. Another criticism that I could make is that the women are almost all white (though that might be because of the whole article in the background thing) but still.. And the fact that the women are still relatively thin/chubby. Looking through all of her posts though, I love her style and message (and also her painting style with other works or art, not just these). I read on one of her posts that she’s going to make the tiny art collection into a coffee shop type of book, and when she does I am definitely going to buy it. Looking at these pictures makes me happy, and i would love to have them all in a collective book.

Okay, So I am finally going to write a post that is actually, you know, about fat. I havn’t written anything in forever. So I am going to now.

I’ve been waiting to write about this for a few weeks, but I just havn’t had the chance. We watched a movie in Anatomy and Physiology a few weeks ago, and it just so happened to be about fat. So, being the studious student that I am, took notes on it (mostly so I could rant about it in my blog and such).

Here I shall quote (not quite accurately, my notes aren’t THAT good) some of what was basically said in the video:

-In, out- Simple (referring the process the body goes through, you know- Calories in, calories out)

-Fat is good, but too much is BAD!!

-You get fat SIMPLY by either eating too much or not exercising enough.

-Liposuction is drastic, you might not want to be that drastic to lose weight

-Do we all store same amount of fat?

-”Overcoat” of fat: men have beer guts, women want to lose hips

-How we feel about our bodies is very dependent on fat because it shapes us.

-Fat people used to be attractive, but not anymore…. They are FULGY!

-Now people with less fat aren’t as healthy (WTF? They just said the opposite the ENTIRE VIDEO!!!)

-Heart Disease all caused by too much fat in diet

-Fat can be your friend or your foe- it’s up to YOU to choose!

The whole video just kinda pissed me off (well, not so much now since it’s been forever since I’ve seen it… okay, like 2 weeks).. It just reeked the whole “calories in=calories out” crap (Actually, I think they did actually say that). The one guy said it is a simple process. I’m sorry, nobody’s body is “simple”. WE ARE COMPLEX ORGANANISMSSS!!!!!! (note- spelled incorrectly for dramatic effect)

It also impled that I am fat because I am lazy and stupid. Because you can only get fat by gorging on lard all day on your couch, so it’s your fault. Obviously all us fatties eat big blobs of donuts and chips and ice cream and cake and all that delicious stuff! No apples or greens for us, we’re fat people! We don’t eat those things because we are fat! And we don’t exercise or do anything at all for that matter! WE ARE TEH FAT!!

Okay, going off on a tangent and what not.. I just hate when people assume you are fat because you eat “unholy” “unhealthy” foods all day and just sit around being fat. Um, NO! Look, I have cake at birthday parties, I eat some chips everyonce and a while, and yes- I do like to eat ice cream on occasion. But I don’t gorge myself with it. I’ll be honest, I hate exercising. But I do it. If I have to play in gym with a bunch of girl assholes who hate my guts, I better be able to kick some ass. I have to walk around at school at the time, not to mention get up so fucking early just to get my bus. I’m sure there are some people (fat and thin) who eat whatever they want all the time and there are some people who never exercise and there are some who eat whatever and don’t exercise. People are different.

Seriously, I am sick of the whole “a little fat is good in the diet, but too much is BAD!!! OOGIE BOOGIE!” stuff. That and the whole “Liposuction is drastic- but it will still get rid of that nasty fat!- but it still might be too drastic BLAHBLAHBLAH YOU ARE FAT AND UGLY!” nonsense. It’s like reading magazines. “Learn to love yourself!” and then turn the page and the next page and the next and all the woemn look the same- skinny, gorgeous, loved, no fat girl for miles. It’s all mixed messages.

“Do we all store the same amount of fat?”…. wtf? Um, I would have to say NO, seeing as we DON’T ALL HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF IT ON OUR BODIES AND THAT IS THE REASON I HAD TO WATCH THIS STUPID TAPE….

So they took 80 individual scans of four different people to see where fat was on their bodies… This whole thing just seems like a waste of time and money. What was the point? To find out that men have beer guts and women want to be hipless?

Feel shame is you are watching!! but then we get “Now people viewed with less fat aren’t as healthy”.. So if you’re fat you’re screwed, and if you are too thin you’re screwed too.

I just figured I would answer some questions that I have noticed I got over the past few days, since it is 11:30 at night and I want to post a quick blog to let ya’ll know what’s up. Be warned, there may be cases of TMI ahead. Lol….

And I love this dress – where did you get it?

I actually got the dress at Dressbarn! My mom was shopping there and I was like, what the heck, I’ll look around! So they actually had some cute dresses there. Let me just tell you know, it is a pain to buy dress for myself, because I have smaller boobs relative to my hips/ass area. Seriously, I’m like two sizes smaller up top. Size 18/20 bottom, and size 14/16 top- only a C cup. Sometimes I wish my top matched the bottom, because it is a pain. Anyway.. where was I going with this? Oh yes, I tried on a bunch of dresses.. Most of them were either to small on the bottom or too big on the top… But I saw that red dress and immediatly knew I loved it… Plus, it was only 50 bucks! Totally sealed the deal. Now I just need to figure out what I am going to do for Prom..

may i ask you where you got it?? im on the lookout for a bikini bottom..buut im not really sure where to look….

I got both of my bikinis from WalMart lol. I was feeling all courageous and tried them on… And I honestly feel like i look so much better in the nuddie/panties/bikini mode. I dunno, I just like the way my body looks when it’s not stuffed into clothes. So I tried them on and loved them, I was actually thinking “wow, I look pretty damn good” and doing stupid poses and stuff in the dressing room lol. But it is different thing when you are wearing a bikini in a dressing room compared to actually being around strangers. But I just figured that they can fuck off if they don’t like it. Not my problem.

I’ll admit that I am still a little self consious about myself when I get out of the water (“omg, am I jiggling?” or “omg, are there are pubes hanging out, DISASTROUS!”.. okay, that last one you probably didn’t need to know, but i seriously always think about that! I dunno if I am the only one and i’m weird, but that’s what i always worry about) but I’m much better. I remember when I showed my mom that I was buying those swimsuits she gave me this weird look and said, “Are you really going to wear those?”… Well, actually I am! And I did.. SO THERE!

Have you ever considered modeling/getting some headshots done? You definitely know how to work it in front of the camera

 I would kill to be a model. Seriously, if Torrid called me up and was all “Hey, be a model” I would be “HELL YES!” (I’d probably demand them to through in some free clothes too, because they are so damn expensive- more on my shopping trip in a later blog!). But sadly, I have zero dollars, and my parents aren’t that rich either, I can’t drive (only have my permit), and I’m still in high school. I wouldn’t even know where to begin if I wanted to be a model. So I guess for now it’s just crappy pictures that i have to take with the 10 second timer on my camera. But I have thought about it/totally dreamed about it lol. It would be awesome.

Hi – just caught word of your blog and thought I’d check it out. I love the show too – I might have to see if I can bribe you into slipping me a copy of the self-esteem stash…I don’t have a recorder, and tapes just get too messy!

hmm.. Maybe I’ll have to make a post out of this! I wish I could totally go around and tape all my favorite pick me up stuff, but sadly my fund are pretty much empty now (I have to pay for my New York City shopping money- atleast I payed the $195 to go on the trip- go me!) plus my dad would kill me if I used up all the DVDs he bought for us to record on lol.. Because mailing out Self-Esteem Stash gift baskets would be pretty awesome. I would love to get one. Maybe I’ll do a Self-Esteem Stash gift blog sometime.
